Identity verification in India runs on a dense stack of registries, regulations and acronyms — CKYCR, V-CIP, VAHAN, EPFO, NETC, penny drop, OVD. This glossary explains each term in plain language: what it means, how the underlying check actually works, and where it fits into a customer onboarding or compliance workflow.
Entries are written for product, risk and compliance teams building verification into their own products. Where a term maps to something you can call directly, the entry links through to the relevant Veriqos Technologies verification API.

How to use this glossary
Each entry starts with a plain definition, then explains how the underlying check works and where it fits in an onboarding or compliance workflow. Related terms are linked at the end of every entry, so you can follow a topic from a regulation to the registry behind it and the API that checks it.
The entries are grouped around the questions teams ask most often: who a customer is (identity documents and Aadhaar), whether an account belongs to them (bank account checks), whether a business is real (GST, CIN and Udyam), and what the rules require (KYC, AML and periodic updates).
Entries are general information rather than legal or compliance advice. Where a rule matters, the entry links to the official source so you can check the current wording yourself.
